S.E. MBELLA MBELLA, Ministre des Relations Extérieures, a pris part ce jour, en mode virtuel, à la session ministérielle du Conseil de Paix et de Sécurité (CPS) de l'Union Africaine (UA). Cette session, qui se tenait sous la présidence rotative de l'Ouganda pour le mois de juin, avait pour thème : « Réfugiés, Personnes déplacées en Interne et Assistance Humanitaire en Afrique ».

Les discussions ont porté entre autres sur :

• La nécessité de renforcer la prévention des conflits et de promouvoir des solutions politiques aux crises en Afrique ;
• La mise en place d’un mécanisme de solidarité et de partage des responsabilités entre les États africains pour la prise en charge des réfugiés et des Personnes Déplacées Internes ;
• Et le besoin urgent d'une augmentation de l'aide humanitaire pour répondre aux besoins croissants des populations affectées par les conflits et les catastrophes naturelles.

H.E. MBELLA MBELLA, Minister of External Relations, took part today, virtually, in the ministerial session of the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union (AU). This session, which was held under the rotating presidency of Uganda for the month of June, had the theme: “Refugees, Internally Displaced Persons and Humanitarian Assistance in Africa”.

The discussions focused, among other things:

• The need to strengthen conflict prevention and promote political solutions to crises in Africa;
• The establishment of a mechanism of solidarity and sharing of responsibilities between African States for the care of refugees and Internally Displaced Persons;
• And the urgent need for an increase in humanitarian aid to meet the growing needs of populations affected by conflicts and natural disasters.
