AUDIENCE GRANTED TO MR. AFOWIRI FONDZENYUY, MEMBER OF THE CAMEROONIAN DIASPORA
On Thursday 16 July 2026, H.E. FELIX MBAYU, Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth received Mr. AFOWIRI FONDZENYUY, member of the Cameroonian Diaspora based in the US, in an audience at the latter’s request.
Mr. Afowiri Fondzenyuy is commonly known as the "Toghu Marathoner". The Cameroonian born is recorded in the Guinness world Records book 2026 edition, as the fastest marathon runner wearing a Toghu, in 4hr 24 min 2 sec in Tokyo, Japan, on March 2024. It's worth mentioning that the Toghu outfit worn during that edition was donated to the National Museum in Yaoundé.
It should be noted that Mr. Afowiri started running the marathon at the age of 39 years dedicating his efforts to his father and young daughter.
